The Wedding & The Beauty Tip

We were invited to a gorgeous wedding on a farm recently and had a beautiful evening with delicious food and great friends. The decorations were perfect for the setting with just a pop of color. We've said it before - coral is really having its moment right now.

Congratulations to the wonderful couple!

We were talking to one of our friends when she casually remarked that she had put apple cider vinegar in her hair and that it had made it remarkably soft. We were surprised to find out that she was right, her hair was undeniably silky. So we went home and dug around our cabinets and pulled out our apple cider vinegar and put it to the test.

It worked! We couldn't believe how soft and silky our hair was. All you do is simply pour some over your head in the shower and let it sit for a minute or two and rinse it out. It doesn't leave a scent behind but it sure makes your hair smooth!

Give it a whirl!

Chic Chinoiserie Accents

Chinoiserie pieces bring an exotic sophistication to a space giving it a worldly, classic feel. Adding blue and white porcelain tableware, a pair of fretwork chairs, asian-print upholstery, or large ginger jars are some easy ways to add Chinoiserie accents in a room. Mixing these Chinoiserie pieces with other design styles are some of our favorite ways to create unique and eclectic rooms. Check out some of our new Asian-inspired pieces here now available on One Kings Lane.

NY Fashion Week: Fall 2014

Every year, twice a year, the worlds hottest and most renowned fashion designers gather in New York to showcase their newest collections at the New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The Fall 2014 runway shows have come and gone and we couldn't help but pick up on the ever so classic white trend that was highlighted this year with clean, simple lines in fitted menswear and long maxi dresses. Here at SWI Vintage, we love to pull inspiration from the fashion world when designing.

Seeing Red

Red has always been a super hot color, from red wine to the red carpet this color always makes its mark. It is a classic, bold, attention-grabbing color that is super hot in both fashion and in interiors. Bring home design and fashion together with touches of red in all different shades. We love the look of adding one big statement piece in red to give a room a pop of unexpected color.

Late Summer Trend Alert-Indigo Accents

Indigo is a deep, rich, bold and elegant color. What else can we say, we love it! It adds instant drama to any outfit, room, or piece of furniture. Ingido ikat print and chambray are some of the most popular looks right now, and this color is perfect for transitioning between summer and fall (not that we are ready for that yet!) Here are some shots of indigo that inspired us.

C. Wonder

Up and coming lifestyle brand, C. Wonder offers a fresh selection of clothing, home decor, accessories, and even an on-site monogram shop! Founded in 2011, by Tory Burch's ex-husband Christopher Burch, C. Wonder now has twenty stores open nationwide and is recently available to shop online. C. Wonder comes to life with a preppy & chic style that is mixed with bright colors and this season's trendiest patterns. In this months issue of Architectural Digest, Margaret Russell, Editor in Chief, wrote, "Christopher finds quiet color schemes ho-hum." We couldn't agree more. SWI Vintage's Anne Shananhan recently visited the new store that was opened in Indianapolis and snapped some pictures for us!
